Leave PM out of impasse

THE continuing impasse over Eastern Highlands Provincial Administrator position has prompted people to call on the Prime Minister to step in which I  believe is premature and belittles the Prime Minister’s office. The country’s chief executive cannot be brought down to see to in-house matters that can be resolved within. Given that the whole province is affected, the eight MPs of the province apart from the governor should take ownership of this issue by convening to establish dialogues and mediate to resolve this issue. This is a provincial matter that is affecting all the eight districts. It is about time these members of parliament show political maturity by providing solidarity leadership for the province. They were mandated to ensure good governance and service delivery from the provincial level down to the district. So please stop these calls for the PM to intervene over something that the nine MPs can solve at the provincial level.
