Let’s be real

Letters

IN relation to the Apec Summit which will be held in November, I have come to realise that Papua New Guinea is already exposed to the world through all forms of media.
But yet, we try to pretend to the global community that all is well.
We must be real as a true citizen of this beautiful country.
The people who are coming into PNG, in this case the Apec delegates, know very well who we are and the type of economy we have.
They don’t just come.
We must be real to the world and speak about the truth as a true leader concerning the people.
Informal markets sustain people’s lives in such a big city as Port Moresby and it reduces petty crimes.
When you stop people from the informal sector and chase them like animals, then you are responsible for everything.
Every individual has the right to be involved in any economic activities.
Therefore, everyone must be respected despite race, gender, physical disabilities, etc.
I appeal to our leaders to be real when making decisions.
