Incomplete investigations:
FROM observations, credible referrals on allegations of official corruption by politicians and bureaucrats – misappropriating public funds – were never concluded. The prosecution and conviction rate is very poor within the police and the judiciary services. It is not surprising for Papua New Guinea’s rating by Transparency International as the most corrupt country in the region.

Outline warrant details:
PRIME Minister James Marape was elected after Peter O’Neill resigned from office on May 30. O’Neill has contributed much for the people of PNG. He is one of our top leaders, who left a legacy in terms of developments and changes. Details of O’Neill’s arrest must be stated clearly to the citizens. I think some of the ministers in the PNC government before, must have contributed to his allegation so it was not published in the media. Otherwise, O’Neill is attached to the string line that most of the politicians will risk their portfolio in the current regime.
