Letters in brief

Letters

Bank defying notice:
THIS is an open letter to Prime Minister James Marape. I am a customer with Westpac Bank.
Despite the government’s intervention with commercial banks for three months buffer period for loans, Westpac continues to deduct my personal loan despite being employed with reduced working hours caused by the Covid-19. This has now caused a lot of stress as to how I will feed by family. Can Westpac explain this? Unfair treatment.

Concern Customer,

Stop domestic travel:
WITH the confirmed coronavirus case in Port Moresby, it would be advisable to disallow flights from Port Moresby to all provinces. Movements of people from Port Moresby to Kikori, Kerema and Kokoda or vice-versa should be closely monitored. Even on the sea itself, every individual has to step in and assist as best as possible. This will help curb the widespread of this disease. Someone might think of bush tracking back to his or her village in the Highlands. Even towards Western, Morobe and Oro.

  • Iam a local contractor based in Lae.
My concern is why do we allow other people from other countries to do contract works that PNGeans can do? Currently within a period of 2 years we see influx of Assians contractors filled up Lae City. The prime minister himself made that statement when resume government the he will support locally SME to grow, but it’s not happening. WHY??????

    Huge concern PNG man…
