Waiting for NID cards:
CAN the NID headquarters at Waigani come out publicly and advise public on the delay of issuing cards and certificates to those registered since last year and years before? We have been receiving “check next week” all week and it is 2019. Publish names for those whose cards are ready so they can turn up to collect. I am fed up going there every week only to be told “come back next week”.

Let ballot boxes go:
I CONDEMN the primitive actions of my countrymen who undermined the National and Supreme Courts’ decision to move ballot boxes from Kundiawa to Lae for recount. A few supporters claimed to represent the Chimbu population, protested with banners, camping outside and blocked the police station gate with stones and objects to stop ballot boxes from leaving. How can such primitive actions happen when citizens are aware of the rule of law? It seems the police force is compromising and have not perform their duty to uphold the rule of law. I appeal to my countrymen, respect the courts’ decisions and allow recount to progress. Whoever wins, the governor seat will be the leader for 258,000 population of Chimbu.

Retrace lost contacts:
I LOST two mobile phones recently with Digicel and Bmobile registered sim cards containing important contacts when the street pests mugged me. I have since replaced both SIMS but could not retrieve the contact numbers. If there is a way the mobile phone companies can assist, I would greatly appreciate it. Since it is now mandatory for both mobile phone companies to have all SIM cards registered, the process of introducing mobile phone directory as suggested will certainly not encroach and infringe on anyone’s privacy.
