LETTERS IN BRIEF

Letters

Bus stop market: An area at the Somare Foundation bus stop has become a commonplace for selling fruits and vegetables. I understand the reason for such businesses. It brings in money, it is convenient and allows workers easy access to fruits and vegetables. I spoke to the sellers a couple of times and explained the importance of food security and hygiene and received positive responses. I hope to see sliced fruits and vegies being properly wrapped and sold next week because I do not want to advise them again.

Loans for teachers:
This is regarding the information published in The National on Nov 15 on teacher’s salaries. We teachers need loans for our children’s school fees next year. Also, Christmas is around the corner and we need money to travel to our places. I support the PNG Teachers’ Association general-secretary’s call.
