Lewas’ Oa, Arua impress in global women’s development squad debut

Papua New Guinea Lewas’ Ravini Oa and Kaia Arua impressed in their International Cricket Council women’s development squad debut against Surrey Stars at New Maiden in the United Kingdom yesterday.
In the first match, the Stars batted first and made 6/134 off their allotted 20 overs. Oa was the star with the ball, taking an incredible 3/28 off her four overs, while Arua had figures of 0/15 off her two overs.
The squad chased down the target in less than 18 overs, with Ireland’s Gabby Lewis (50*) and Scotland’s Sarah Bryce (45) leading the way. In the second match, the squad batted first and posted 5/160 off their 20 overs, with Lewis posting 77 runs off just 51 balls.
In reply, the Stars fell two runs short in the chase, managing 5/158 with Oa taking 1/39 of her four overs while Arua finished with 0/23 off three overs.
The squad had a day off yesterday and will take on Loughborough Lightning in two matches today and then finishing off with their final match against Western Storm tomorrow.
