Lift restrictions on religious activities

Letters

RELIGIOUS gatherings should be given full flexibility then night clubs and other entertainment activities.
Most of us including the prime minister praised the Lord for what have transpired during the Covid-19 period.
The virus did not spread rapidly and we have not seen any deaths compared to other countries.
But yet we put more restrictions on how we worship the Lord our God.
Crusades and large church gatherings are forbidden and churches should not have more than 100 people and should observe social distancing of 1.5M.
Churches open only on Saturdays and Sundays apart from crusades or church camps that may go on for a week.
Night clubs and the entertainment industry on the other hand have been given Wednesday to Sunday to operate every week.
Who will enforce social distancing in night clubs?
You will be wasting your time talking to drunkards.
These money making industries need more customers – who says that there will be less than 100 people in a night club or entertainment centre?
The more customers you have more money you make.
They do not worry about Covid-19 they want to make money.
To our good leaders, God appointed you as a leader for a reason and in such times our faiths are tested to see if we are truly with him.
We believe God is bigger than Covid-19 and He is mercifully.
One way that our leaders can thank him is to grant full flexibility to church activities.

  • Well said, Zuguru of Bena Bridge. Fear struck us when we saw covid-19 spreading around the globe and doing its havoc. We quickly went down on our knees and desperately asked God for His intervention and He came in a bigger way and helped us. Nao yumi restrictim ol man lo lotu na tokim night clubs na ol activity weh promotim evil lo go ful swing. Man! What is this we are doing to the God who is saving us, who is our only hope. The developed nations looked to the strength of their capacity, the resources, knowledge and wealth they have of which we don’t have. Our hope was in God and we looked upon Him and He did save us. Bai yumi lukluk lo em na bai yumi lusim em ken?

  • I agree with you Fay, God we serve is greater than the COVID 19, our God is amazing God, has protected us for a greater reason to confirm his word, God Chooses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise”PNG should be proud of the Good Lord for unmerited favour,.Surely will write a History when the corona virus end….

  • I support the idea which was brought by this brother, the way I see from this lifting of SOE, the government is now going away from God, the one whom we ran to for refuge from the pestilence and putting restrictions on public church gatherings, putting fewer restrictions on other public places like night clubs and pokies houses just to collect taxes from them and not from the churches. what have we given or said to GOD for his protection during these last 3 months? no ken act long long nabaut, nogut yumi bai kisism bikpla bagarap the next time.

  • YES! YES! YES!

Otherwise we are already compromising with the world.
    Isnt this double tongue talking?
