Local firm gives K20,000 to Hohola Offseason Rugby League competition

THE Hohola Offseason Rugby League competition was given a K20,000 boost by Vitis Industries Limited over the weekend recognising their roles in creating pathways for talented players.
Vitis national marketing manager Albert Veratau said the sponsorship came under their theme of creating a home for rugby league in Papua New Guinea.
“Many young people play the game at the grass roots level and the dream of one day wearing the famous Kumul jumper,” he said.
“There are former Kumuls who have come back to their homes and are giving back to rugby league where they began their journey.
“Vitis Industries recognises the journey that champions went through in their football life with their tireless efforts that they, their families, friends and other volunteers put into keep such competitions going for many years. Likewise, the Hohola offseason is one such competition where raw talents are scouted to big leagues.
“Therefore, Vitis Industries is honoured to invest into the Hohola competition and give every opportunity to young men and women to showcase their talents to become the next champions,” Veratau.
Meanwhile, Hohola league president Roger Laka thanked Vitis Industries for its support.
“I appreciate the company for their support in the time when we needed help desperately. We can utilize the money to complete our season.”
