Local gymnasiums in city receive K50,000 support

TRUKAI Industries Limited has given K10,000 each to five small-medium enterprises which operate their own gymnasiums.
The K50,000 sponsorship comes under its “Tru Health Fitness SME support” programme.
The five SMEs are Peak Fitness, East-Street Fitness, Primal Fitness, Break a Sweat and Nagunan Fitness.
Trukai brand manager Casey Kwasam said the businesses had been struggling recently because of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Kwasam said Trukai supported most of the ideals shared by the five SMEs. “Most of these SMEs always strive for accessibility for these services. Most if it is out of our reach due to cost, access and locations.
“Most of the gyms that are available are through private memberships and these SMEs have taken the initiative to create that accessibility.” Trukai chief executive officer Alan Preston said many SMEs had been affected by the Covid-19.
He welcomed the Government’s K200 million small to medium enterprises funding but suggested that it should be increased to around K500 million.
