FARMERS and fishermen in the Tikana local level government of New Ireland will benefit from two roads to be upgraded soon to help them get to the market.
The New Ireland project implementation committee certified two road upgrading projects on the west coast of the local level government.
The roads are at Bagatere which covers Kaut, Sikakui and Lavolai, and the road from Lavolai to Lamusmus.
Governor Sir Julius Chan said the Bagatere road upgrade was overdue and would cost K1.5 million; the road from Lavolai to Lamusmus would cost K500,000.
Sir Julius urged the committee to fast track the projects.
