Look into issues at Upper Waria

Letters

WE the people of Upper Waria in Wau-Bulolo district, are facing so much issues.
We do not have proper communication services, no health care (aid posts), no health centre and no proper road connection.
We want our MP and district heads to come see for themselves how we are living and do something.
We the nine wards of Waria LLG who are sharing the border with Northern, Central and Gulf provinces also share bush track access via Tapini and Lake Kamo.
We are also wondering why there is no Covid-19 awareness done to us as we heard that the number of Covid-19 cases are increasing and we are not sure what to do if the pandemic reaches us.
The people are concerned and want immediate action from the authorities.
The councilors there have not been receiving their monthly allowances for a year.
What are the district’s priorities?
We (councilors) are the very government representatives living with the people and at least something must be done to appreciate what we are doing where many other government workers cannot go.
I appeal to the Government and Sam Basil to please listen to our plea and help us your people.

Jack Pamo,
Ward 9 councillor, Waria LLG
