Love, pray for your enemies, Czuba says

WHILE delivering Sunday’s Eucharist, Father Jan Czuba has reminded mass goers that despite ethnic tensions, people had remain compassionate towards one another as this is the Christian way.
“We are advised to choose the golden rule of loving our enemies and being sensitive to the feelings of other brothers and sisters, to love one another, as the Lord loves (us),” he said.
Czuba’s main message was that the power of Christian love, when exercised, was unconditional forgiveness.
“The Lord teaches us to love our enemies, do well to those who hate us, bless those who curse us and pray for those who treat us badly,” he said.
“We need to practice the golden rule because we have so much violence at home, there’s so much tension between different ethnic groups but we always call ourselves Christians.”
Czuba said forgiveness was part of man’s nature when God created human beings, but he said when the Devil tempted us, he spoilt that nature by making it difficult to show compassion, mercy and forgiveness.
