LUFA MP Jeffery Kuave has given more than K1 million in school fee subsidy assistance to Lufa students attending tertiary institutions.

He was at the University of Goroka last Thursday to pay K220,800 for 87 students.

Kuave said he had allocated K61,600 for 39 students attending the University of PNG and K126,000 for 39 students at the University of Technology in Lae.

He had also allocated money for Lufa students attending other institutions and colleges throughout the country.

Lufa Students Association president at the University of Goroka Basil Asiwa thanked Kuave.

Asiwa said as a UOG student for the past four years, he had not seen assistance from other leaders.

“It’s a reflection of your vision to develop human resource. Your investment will not be a waste,” Asiwa said.

We will take our studies seriously and bring out the best for Lufa district.”

Asiwa said that Kuave’s priority to invest in human resource development would not be a waste of people’s money.

Others speakers commended the local MP for his focus on education and human resource development in his electorate.

Kuave also stressed that it was important to have educated people in the district who would help and guide development in the district.

The MP said he wanted as many Lufa students as possible to get educated with his help, not only in higher learning institutions but also in primary and secondary schools.
