THE Evangelical Lutheran church head bishop Rev Giegere Wenge has opened the new Lutheran Laip Care Centre for the Boana district in Morobe.
It is a drop-in centre for persons living with HIV/AIDS.
Wenge was thankful that the centre was set up in Boana as it would help those in need of medical care.
“Drop in for treatment and you can be healed in the name of Christ Jesus,” he said during the opening.
“When you come here for testing you must have faith that the Lord Jesus will help each of you through the faith we have and to maintain our Christian faith in the church.”
Wenge also thanked the centre’s coordinator Amad Uma for working closely with the National AIDS Council to secure K40,000 for its operation.
Uma in turn thanked the coordinator for Boana district, Besari Gilanguk, for cooperating with the president and church council members to establish the centre.
Morobe Governor Kelly Naru also committed K10,000 to support the centre.
