Lutherans will miss the late Waima

THE former president and bishop of the Gutnius Lutheran church, Dr Waesa Waima, died at the Mt Hagen General Hospital on July 2 of heart and kidney failure.
The news of his death shocked church members and Engans throughout the country.
He will be remembered for his energy, his knowledge and wisdom, his courage and dignity, and his love of God’s Word.
He left behind a son, five daughters, 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
His funeral was held on July 8 at the Sir Tei Abal Secondary School and more than 10,000 people gathered throughout the wake to honour the great man.
Waima will be remembered for his immense contribution to the district, province and country.
