Where is Madang district heading?

Letters

I write to congratulate Madang Open MP Bryan Kramer for his plans and initiative in moving around his LLGs and discussing ward development plans with the people.
However, talks are just creamy and colourful, with no action taking place yet.
There is a consultant group already engaged and paid to help the Madang district technical team action the initiative and plans of the MP.
All I see is them going around and doing the same talks that the MP had done.
People in the communities and their ward development committees are confused and waiting for the plans to start.
Do the consultants engage know what to do?
Does the district need to keep on paying the consultants when there is no progress of work at all?
The people of Madang District want their budget and services put into effective and sustainable projects.
Money should not be wasted in consultants who are weak and delay plans.
Hon MP, I as a concerned citizen in your district, support you in your plans but it’s time now to walk the talk.
Enough of talking.
Urgently look into the consultants, change them and put people who know the job to get the ward development plans done.
These consultants should be people who can live in the communities, understand the people and their culture, walk up mountains, valleys and cross rivers to write a good plan.
Do not get people who live in town and collect hearsay stories and use Internet.
These kind of plans will be more theoretical than practical for the people of Madang.
Kramer: Our people have been in the dark for too long and have been neglected without proper services.
You are clearing the path, so before you waste money on people who are lazy and unproductive who will twist your visions, I ask that you seriously sit down with all your technical officers in your three LLGs.
Relook, review and redirect the current work done by the consultants and the technical team before it’s too late.
Let us focus Madang district on ‘Walk the Talk’.
It is time to stop talking and start actioning.
Do you want to keep on doing this same old thing?
Play the same old political songs of every MP in the past.
The ball is in your court now to write a new chapter.

Very concerned Mogoi Citizen
Madang
