LAWLESSNESS in Madang has worsened in the past two to three months, say police.
Provincial police commander acting Supt Mazuc Rubiang has received reports from people from Usino Bundi that they were robbed between Walium and Madang town. It is understood that a number of passengers were injured in the incident.
Rubiang urged the locals and public to provide information to police on the suspects.
He suggested to PMV operators in districts to travel in a convoy when transporting passengers so that they look out for each other.
He added that police also had issues with logistics and could not be everywhere.
He assured the victims and their families that police would be patrolling the Tapo area.
