MOTORISTS in Madang town’s central business centre can now enjoy a concrete road – thanks to JV PNG Investment.
The company built a concrete double-lane road in the heart of the business centre.
JV PNG Investment director John Bankok said the 550-metre stretch was now all concrete.
He said the Madang provincial government entered a contract with JVP PNG Investment in 2015 for construction work.
Bankok said Phase Three of the construction would be constructing a concrete road from the main wharf to the Sir Donald Cleland park junction, then from the main market to the town police station.
Bankok said the Government was yet to pay more than K8million for the work.
He said the company would keep its employees for a few fortnights before asking them to leave.
He said they had been working on a “credit basis” on government projects in Lae and Madang, including the construction of the Banab Bridge.
“We are yet to receive the payment for Banab bridge, Madang town road, Usino Yal road and Lae city roads,” Bankok said.
“I understand the government is going through an economic crisis but my concern is if I will be able to complete the projects.”
