MAGANI beat Paga Panther b 24-22 in the Port Moresby rugby league preliminary final at the National Football Stadium Oval 2 yesterday.
Magani will take on Royals in this weekend’s grand final.
The Panthers-Magani preliminary final was postponed twice — first was last Sunday due to a late start and while the rescheduled game last Monday was called off as the venue lights could not be used.
Both sides scored four tries eachwith the goal kicking the difference.
The halftime score was 10-10, Magani were the better side over the second 40 minutes with lock Tommy Moide barging over for a try under the posts, which five-eighth Junior Belo slotted the conversion for a 16-10 lead.
Panthers replied through hooker Gilbert Korate to trail 16-14.
Paga kicked a penalty to draw level 16-16.
But Magani scored two more tries to Panthers in in the final quarter.
