A YOUTH appearing on a wilful murder charge in a Waigani Committal Court on Wednesday has been asked to justify his age to proceed his case.
Magistrate Paul Puri Nii told Allan Aihi, 17, from Paikua village, Kairuku in Central, to bring in his parents to justify his age before his case could be transferred to juvenile hearing.
“There should be birth certificate or some form of document provided by your parents to justify your age to be 17,” Nii said.
Police alleged that last Dec 2, Aihi stabbed Armstrong Binai to death at Gerehu Stage Two in Port Moresby.
It was alleged that Binai and Aihi had a fight the previous day and the next day, Aihi started the fight again with Binai where he pulled out a knife and stabbed Binai on his left chest.
Binai was rushed to Gerehu Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The case was adjourned to July 14.
