Maiwa football grateful for recognition

THE remote Maiwa Football Association in Makamaka LLG in the Rabaraba District of Milne Bay has praised Football Federation PNG’s vision for reaching out to rural areas of the country.
MFA president Joe Benson said this when registering his two champion clubs, Midino (men) and Burai (women) for the Southern Conference Club Championships.
Benson could not hold back fading voice as he expressed his appreciation to FFPNG for allowing them to take part in their sanctioned tournament.
“We took part as an association in the National Sevens Soccer as an association and now the club are taking part in the club championships, it is something that a lot of youth are always dreaming of,” Benson said.
“We are grateful to FFPNG headed by John Kapi Natto and NCDFA for taking lead as a big brother associations to spread the soccer gospel throughout the Southern region,” he said.
Benson also thanked Alotau MP Charles Abel who officiated at the launching of the Maiwa Football Association in 2016.
