Major drug bust case adjourned

THE case involving one of the biggest drug busts in PNG last year was adjourned to Thursday because Police Prosecutor Insp Boaa Binuali was not in court.
Magistrate Alex Kalandi instructed Central prosecutor George Vetari to inform Binuali of the next court date and that he had to appear in order for the case to progress.
The court noted that Australian pilot David John Cutmore, one of the accused, would be read two fresh charges under the Customs Act when the case returned.
He was remanded at the Bomana immigration detention centre.
Other individuals detained in connection with the 600kg cocaine haul near Lealea village, about 30km from Port Moresby, Italian yacht owner Carlo D’Attanasio, Morgan Mogu and Dominic Terupo were remanded at the Bomana prison.
The other suspect, Shane Dikana’s National Court bail was extended.
