Malaysian killed in stabbing at logging camp in Western

A suspect is now in police custody charged with killing a Malaysian man at a logging camp in a remote part of Western, says
South Fly police commander Sengi Laki.
He said the suspect is charged with stabbing the victim, a man named Lau Hua King, 66, in his neck at the Canapus logging camp last week.
King, employed as a crane operator, was found dead with a knife wound to his neck at the place of work, Laki said.
“Police arrested the suspect upon a tip-off.
“He is now awaiting court appearance for mention at the Daru District Court.”
Laki said another man was in custody charged with the murder of a man at Gamaewe village in the Oriomo-Bituri local level government last week.
He said the accused had thrown a spear at the victim “and hit him on his chest, killing him instantly”.
Laki said the fight happened while people were drinking homebrew .
In another case, a man accused of the killing of another man has been killed by relatives of his alleged victim at Kupere village.
Both men were drinking homebrew when the the victim was stabbed.
The victim’s relatives retaliated and shot dead the accused with an arrow before police arrived to restore order.
Police are investigating.
Police have called on people in the area to mind their own business, look after their families and not be involved in criminal activities.
