A 42-YEAR-OLD man was charged in a committal court in Waigani with raping his 11-year-old daughter in Port Moresby two years ago.
Magistrate Danny Wakikura read out two counts of raping a minor, two counts of sexual touching and one count of persistent sexual abuse against the father who was from East New Britain.
Wakikura said: “A relationship of trust between a father and daughter was breached.
“All five charges will proceed to allow police to file evidence.
“The matter is adjourned to July 20,” he said, adding that he could file for bail while in remand in Bomana prison.
The girl had told the police that her father had been sexually abusing her since she was six-years-old.
