Man charged with attempted murder

A 47-YEAR-OLD man was charged in a committal court in Waigani with eight counts of attempted murder and damaging properties valued at K118,000 in Port Moresby in October.
Magistrate Danny Wakikura read out the charges to Eugene Tembon, from Kompiam-Ambum’s Parr village, Enga, and adjourned hearing to March 28.
He also extended Tembun’s bail.
Police prosecutor McKenzie Ken said Sergeant Peter Samghy who is the prosecutor of the case was on leave and sought an adjournment.
On Oct 23, Tembon went to Gerehu Stage Four in the National Capital District and allegedly threatened Monica Oaike and Joshua Kimi with a pistol.
Tembon also allegedly damaged Oaike and Kimi properties.
The victims were scared by the threat but later lodged a police report.
