Man charged with ‘touching’

POLICE in Manus have charged a security guard with sexual touching of a female employee at the refugee processing centre.
He was scheduled to appear in the Lorengau District Court yesterday.
Acting provincial police commander Senior Inspector David Yapu said the guard was a villager.
The victim was cleaning up at the IHMS hospital at the centre when the suspect squeezed her breast without her consent, Yapu said.
The frustrated victim reported the matter to the management of the centre who reported it to PNG Immigration officers. The matter was referred to police for investigation.
Yapu said police charged the suspect with sexual touching.
