Man facing fraud charges on trail

A COURT has found sufficient evidence to commit a man charged with forging 235 common seals of companies to stand trial in the National court.
Magistrate Cosmas Bidar, of the Committal Court in Waigani, committed Cui Zhiyuan Aron, from Shanghai in China, to trial.
He is charged with two counts of forgery, two counts of fraudulent uttering documents, two counts of false pretence, one count of conspiracy to defraud and a count of bribery.
Police alleged that on March 12 at Kennedy Estate in Port Moresby, Aron fraudulently uttered documents to process passports, visa and work permits for four Chinese men.
It is alleged that he used a company’s letterhead to write to the Chief Migration Officer and a senior police officer.
During a search, police confiscated materials from Aron’s office among which were photos, passports of four Chinese nationals, visa, work permits, 235 common seals and K149,000.
