Man hurt, road blocked as fighting breaks out

A MAN was injured and a roadblock was set up after fighting broke out between the people of Gigo settlement and Laleki villagers along the Talesea District Highway in Kimbe, police said.
Police Commander Inspector John Midi said fighting between two groups have been going on for over two weeks after a young man from Laleki was assaulted.
“That resulted in a man from Gigo slashed with bush knife but survive and is receiving medical attention,” he said.
He said the suspect who assaulted the man from Laleki village has been located and will be arrested and charged.
He said police are investigating.
Meanwhile, three man were arrested the previous weekend for various cases of offending.
He said two were arrested for sexual touching, another was a follow-up arrest for taking an unworthy ship out to sea.
He said the full details of the report has not reached his office yet.
