A MAN appeared in court yesterday charged with the unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stealing various items worth more than K28,000.

The court heard that Keisey Koi of Rigo, Central, with four others held up a James Kasausing with a pistol and two bush knives at Gerehu Stage Two on April 27.

The five then stole his vehicle which cost around K26,000, a K1,300 Blackberry mobile and a wallet containing K700 cash.

Magistrate Cosmas Bidar told Koi that he would only be allowed bail on the charge of unlawful use of motor vehicle and not on the armed robbery charge as it was a serious offence and should be taken to the National Court.

The court has been adjourned to an unspecified date.
