Mano files to dismiss cyber harassment case

THE Waigani Committal Court has adjourned the hearing of an application by Mineral Resources Development Company managing director Augustine Mano.
Mano, from Pwati village in Erave, Southern Highlands, was charged with one count of cyber harassment for allegedly using an unknown number to send (social messages) to assassinate Petroleum Resource Gobe chairman Philip Kende.
His lawyer MacDonald Nale, from Jema Lawyers, told the court that he would file an application to have the charges struck out.
Police prosecutor Chief Sgt Polon Koniu said he would not be able to immediately respond to the application and asked for an adjournment.
Magistrate Cosmas Bidar adjourned the hearing to Sept 2.
