Marape is the right man for HTA job

Letters, Normal

I would like to commend the NEC for appointing Tari-Pori MP James Marape as the chairman of Hela Transition Authority (HTA).
He is young, energetic and his electorate is expected to be the new headquarters for the proposed Hela province.
The appointment will encourage and empower Mr Marape to concentrate on putting in place the necessary infrastructure in his electorate.
As for Southern Highlands Governor Anderson Agiru, he should stop complaining and work with Mr Marape.
He must remember that he is the governor and the province needs 100% of his time and energy.
He is currently concentrating on the LNG project and forgetting the province.
Mr Agiru must not forget that he was not voted in to office by Helas but other Southern Highlanders too.
Are we seeing the same Mr Agiru who had earlier appointed Mendi MP Pr Isaac Joseph to be the acting governor as he claimed he was too busy looking for money for the LNG project?
He said he needed more time out of the province and country to look for money.
So how on earth is he going to find the time to run the HTA when he does not have time to run SHP?
All I can conclude is Mr Agiru is out to score some political points.
The whole of SHP needs Mr Agiru, not only Hela or the LNG project.
The move to appoint Mr Marape was spot on by Sir Puka Temu and the NEC.
