Marape outraged over airport melee

PRIME Minister James Marape has expressed anger that employees of two security firms fought and threatened safety at the Jackson International Airport yesterday.
Marape told The National that he had called for an investigation into this saga, as well as other operational and management issues with regards to the National Airport Corporation (NAC) Ltd’s operations.
“This incident is one of many such safety issues that has been recurring in our premiere airport and I am not taking this lightly,” he said.
“I have directed for investigations into what is happening at the airport.”
In the meantime, Marape called for the arrest of all involved in the airport melee and fracas, as well as terminating contracts of security companies that caused the fight at the airport.
“This should serve as a warning to all security companies and other service providers at state agencies,” he said.
“Work with ethics and discipline.”
