PRIME Minister James Marape has urged young people in their 20s to make meaningful decisions and plan their lives instead of doing nothing.
Marape said this group would have the most impact on the country.
He said it was important they were engaged effectively and made good decisions as it would affect their families and communities.
Marape told students during the University of Goroka’s 25th graduation on Friday where 639 students graduated.
He told the graduates to start numbering their days in life correctly. “Students, I want you to find your place in the national destiny,” he told the graduates.
“The Government is expected to do what is right for the country and you citizens, what will you do?
“You are here by the design of God himself.
“The inputs you make today is fundamental.
“Start numbering your days in life correctly – don’t live life like a reckless person, budget your time, measure your life and work towards that starting with discipline.
“Be optimistic and budget your time.”
Marape said having a positive and proactive mindset would ensure they reached their potential.
