A NEW market constructed at a cost of K160,000 through the Tewai-Siassi district development authority would be used to sell fresh farm and sea foods.
Local MP Dr Kobby Bomareo said the market was built to empower the rural populace and provide an avenue for them to generate income.
He said the construction of the Bunsil market would benefit people all over the island of the local level government of Siassi.
“The construction of the market would continue over the period of the 2022 general election which should be completed in July” he said.
The market was built at the Bunsil government station to encourage the people to participate meaningfully in the sector.
Bomareo said the station has always been the centre of economic growth in the district which he was determined to develop.
“In order to make the station an economic and conducive environment for the people of Siassi, the district is determined to provide the much needed service it needs,” he said.
Bomareo is contesting the Tawai-Siassi open seat under a Pangu Pati ticket.
The electorate is made up of three local level governments – Sialum, Wasu and Siassi.
