Maru, team to visit PDL blocks in SHP

 MINISTER for Trade, Commerce and Industry Richard Maru will be visiting the block areas of the Angore PDL 8, Southern Highlands, from April 22- 24.

A team from the ministry who visited the area last month told him that landowners in Angore PDL 8 were looking forward to seeing him.

The landowners see his visit as the first since the signing of the umbrella business sharing agreement and licensed business sharing agreement.

The purpose of his trip is to:

l Confirm the chairmen and boards of the umbrella companies and block companies; and

l Discuss how the government wants to fund their businesses using their business development grant as apportioned in the agreement.

Maru is expected to be accompanied by the chief secretary, heads of departments from petroleum and energy, national planning, finance and treasury.

Members of Parliament from Hela have also been invited to join the delegation. 

“I want to meet the landowners to sort out differences so that funds are released without delay, provided the Department of Commerce and Industry or the state are not restrained by the courts,” Maru said.
