NGIP Agmark Gurias have released the names of players in the train-on squad for the Digicel Cup which kicks off on April 15.
The Gurias, who finished as runners-up last year, have gone into intensive training under the watchful eyes of mentor Michael Marum.
Marum has been training with the players for the past six weeks and warned that none of them had won their spot in the squad.
He said the final squad would depend on their performance during a final trial match and the Agmark and Trukai 9s rugby league challenges.
Two players who made their debut in last season’s grand final will not be part of the team due to work and school commitment.
Israel Eliab has returned to school and Sanive Wasenge will be concentrating on his work.
New players from the local competition joining the team are Bradley Simon, Emmaus Wartovo and Divine Word University student Jimmy Mai.
The 26-man train-on squad: Sakias Kabange, Joe Bruno, Kot Kerowa, Nelson Daplen, David Misiel, Chris Jerry, Albert Patak, Obert Hondole, Pidi Togap, Boas Ruru, Junior Pangogo, Francis Paniau, Wartovo Puara Jr, Leo Tikot Jr, Bobby Pau, Markus Kaugla, Mai, Emmanuel John, Jack Marcus, Kazu Ben, Ase Boas, Alkan Tololo Jnr, Jimmy Peter Jr, Fabian Pulu, Simon and Wartovo.
The head coach is Marum, assistant is Oscar Tonga, trainer is Apelis Walia, team manager is Mapua Tamtu and doctor is Rison Holde and Dr Yap.
