Mayur expects to start construction work on project

MAYUR Resources Ltd is expected to start construction work on its wholly owned Central Cement and Lime project as early as fourth quarter this year, chief operating officer Trent Alexander says.
“The business recently completed all surveying and geotechnical activities providing critical inputs to refine the design of the quarry, plant and associated infrastructure,” he said.
The project which is located near Kido and Raerae villages in Central has all approvals in place to start construction.
Alexander said the Mineral Resources Authority (MRA) was preparing documentation for a consultative forum due to take place after the General Election 2022.
“During this process, the company will present its development plans and landowners will deliberate with the state and provincial government on items including the royalty split and the formation of associations for local business opportunities and benefits sharing from the project,” he said.
As a gesture of goodwill and ongoing commitment, Mayur has donated data projectors to the school at Kido.
“Having recently donated and installed renewable solar energy for the school at Kido village, we wanted to again show our support for the community and help improve learning opportunities for the children,” he said.
“We could not have got this far without the strong support of landowners in the area.
“I commend their patience and understanding as we develop this project together whilst not losing sight of the long-term economic benefits and improved living standards this project will bring.”
“Whilst the impact of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) has resulted in Mayur having to rethink the implementation and phasing of the project into two parts (first phase being the Quicklime and second phase being Clinker/cement), the final full scale still remains well in excess of K1 billion and the overall cement and lime manufacturing plant set up remains largely the same.”
