THE Department of Community Development, Youth and Religion is partnering with churches to hold a women’s conference on the importance of women as nation builders, secretary Anna Bais says.
Bais said apart from other women’s conferences held in the country, this one would focus on spiritual aspects.
She said the theme of the event was “women as nation builders –women the change makers”.
“The conference will discuss and find ways of building women and girl’s characters aligned with the theme,” Bais said.
She said the headlines for discussion would include: Women of substance; knowing your purpose as a women; jealousy and envy; victim to victor, women as nation builders; and, women the change makers.
Bais said women played a crucial role in any society and needed to be recognised for it.
“Women can contribute with a lot in different spheres of life, in Government, in private sector, NGOs and churches,” she said.
“In communities and families, women are the strength, they provide and feed their families and keep their family units going.”
The conference would be livestreamed on Facebook, televised on EMTV and broadcast on radio on FM100.
