Men and women

Letters

THE role of the male and female is not general.
Both sexes have specific roles to play in the family and community they are in.
A male, when married, is a husband, father and man.
A young or unmarried male is automatically a man; he bypasses the stage of husband and father.
The male plays certain roles according to the category he falls into.
As a husband, he loves his wife, gives her commodities like time, money and other resources, and affection.
As a father he provides, protects and leads those under his care.
As a man he contributes ideas and material wealth and helps solves problems in the family and community.
Therefore, if a male is involved in anti-social activities, he is not a man and not fit to be a husband and a father.
Likewise, when a female marries she becomes a wife, mother and woman.
A young or unmarried female is automatically a woman. She bypasses the stage of being a wife and mother.
The female plays certain roles in the family, community and society according to the category she falls into.
A wife loves her husband and reciprocates the love of her husband.
A mother makes a home and tends to those who are under her care.
Therefore, if a female is partaking in anti-social or corrupt behaviour, she is not a woman. Also she is far from being a wife and mother.
Therefore, every male and female in Papua New Guinea should know where they fall into and what role to play.
Only then will we have a safe and free society.
