Men in court for sex abuse

A 28-YEAR-OLD man accused of sexually abusing his 13-year-old step-daughter appeared before the Waigani Committal Court yesterday.
The accused from Wapmen village, in the Obura-Wonenara, Eastern Highlands, was charged with sexual penetration.
He was alleged to have committed the offence on Dec 15, at the ATS settlement, in Port Moresby.
Another man accused of sexually abusing his niece also appeared before the court yesterday.
The 25-year-old man from Kunini village, South Fly, Western, was alleged to have sexually abused his sister’s 13-year-old daughter at 5-Mile, in Port Moresby on Jan 1.
He was also charged with sexual penetration.
The accused appeared from custody and asked the court for bail, but Magistrate Tracy Ganaii advised him to get a lawyer and file a proper bail application.
Both cases will return to court for mention on Feb 17.
