Men, women should have equal rights

Letters

WHAT we experience today is the result of our choices.
Our choices have brought us this far.
The interpretation of gender varies in different parts of the world.
In Papua New Guinea’s history, society was administered by males.
Men were responsible for guarding their families.
Thus, men were perceived as superiors.
They made decisions while women followed.
This is the reason why people tend to respect men more than women.
But despite our gender differences, we all can think and achieve things.
It is time to change.
Free ourselves from all deprivations.
We should embrace equal rights.
Why do we keep hanging onto our Melanesian ideologies when the world is rapidly changing?
We have to change now to move forward.
Give equal rights to all humans.
