THE PNG mixed & men’s Netball Association competition has hosted lead-up games for clubs with competition set to return next month.
President Adam Parker told The National yesterday that the association plans to have a bigger competition this year for every netball lovers in Port Moresby to enjoy the game. “These are just lead-up games and we’ve been doing this for the last three weekends now,” Parker said.
“We started off early because we wanted to attract more teams into the competition for this year. We want all the teams to organise, prepare and set themselves ready before the proper rounds begin.
“We’re just giving these teams an opportunity to prepare well by keeping form and fitness ready to go into the start of the season,” said Parker.
He said they would identify players during the games and divide them into their correct divisions – men’s premier and B-grade.
“Registration is still open. We started off early so that we have a bigger timeframe for teams who are interested to participate to come onboard and register and be part of the competition in season 2024. Registration is K750,” Parker said.
“So we have three more weeks to go before we kick-off the competition.”
