LaSallians raise funds

THE LaSalle Catholic Secondary hosted a brunch to commence fundraising towards an international conference to be held in Port Moresby.
The event held on Saturday is the first event aimed at raising funds for the LaSalle Education Symposium set for June this year.
This will be the first international conference the PNG Brothers and LaSallian foundation will host which will see partners and LaSallian brothers come to PNG to invest in education programmes for schools that are affiliated with the Catholic order schools.
National LaSallian Family coordinator Grace Wrakia said: “This is the first international gathering that the PNG Brothers and LaSallian family is hosting to bring our partners and brothers from outside of PNG to see what this country has to offer to the world and invest in our school programmes.
The LaSalle family have a target of K100,000 to reach to ensure they cover all costs of the symposium. By Saturday the fundraiser had raised K46,000 with each table set at K2,000 each and pledges were also being added during the fundraiser by individuals.
The morning part of the event was served morning breakfast, appetisers by mid-morning and main course lunch was served by midday while speeches and entertainment were part of the programme.
The hall at LaSalle Secondary School was used as the venue.
