I ACKNOWLEDGE Morobe Governor Ginson Saonu’s New Year’s message encouraging Morobeans to develop the province in both service delivery and economic developments.
Morobe and its nine districts will move forward and prosper if we put God first in all our political dreams, visions and development plans.
The Morobe Administration should start 2020 by removing unproductive and lazy public servants at the provincial, districts and local level government levels.
Morobeans should not continue to talk about implementing national and provincial development agendas when we cannot make that change.
Many of these public servants lack discipline and forgot that they draw their fortnight’s salaries from the tax payer’s money.
The good governor and provincial administrator Bart Ipambonj should put their foot down in 2020.
Identify these undisciplined public servants and replace them if we are serious about moving Morobe and its nine districts forward.
Morobeans are hardworking people and are ready to develop the province in agriculture, fisheries, alluvial gold mining, coffee, cocoa, peanuts, chicken, piggery, rice, corns, round cabbages, onions and the list goes on.
Morobe needs effective government development programmes and effective public service machinery.
Our politicians should use their provincial and district services improvement programme funds to assist the small to medium enterprise (SME) sector and fund infrastructure projects – roads, bridges, wharves, jetties and rural airstrips – to connect the nine districts with the provincial headquarter.
I urge all Morobeans to support our governor and the provincial administrator to move Morobe forward instead of spending time talking.
Morobean elites should congregate in a public forum to discuss and plan the way forward for Morobe in 2020.
