THE two-day PNG Alluvial Mining Convention and Trade Show 2015 will start  in Lae today.

Under the theme Panning for Alluvial Prosperity,  the second Alluvial Mining Convention and Trades how is expected to bring together in one venue all local and international stakeholders involved in or seeking to be involved in the alluvial mining sector.

Organisers of the show said stakeholders include alluvial mining communities from all areas of PNG, the regulators (mining, environment, safety), small and medium business promoters, financiers, joint venture interests, gold buyers, smelter companies and exporters, provincial and local level government, lawyers, equipment manufacturers and suppliers.

Following the success of inaugural event last year, the 2015 convention is set to be bigger, with two days allocated for the convention and another two for an optional field trip to Bulolo and Wau goldfields.
