RAMU NiCo Management (MCC) Ltd says the company has acquired a technical remote operating vehicle to help the company conduct timely checks on its project’s deep sea tailing placement disposal integrity.

The company said the remote vehicle reported to the stakeholders on timely bases.

The company bought the (vehicle) ROV from Australia for US$94,290 (K264,087) based on its performance.

The model was recommended by an expert sea-bed scientist who used ROVs and other ocean floor equipment both at the Ramu project and abroad.

The company said reliable and continuous DSTP pipeline integrity checks and data were useful for stakeholders and the Government, the general community in Rai Coast district of Madang and Ramu NiCo Project pending a court order in place.
