Minister clarifies confusion

CIVIL Aviation Minister Seki Agisa has clarified some confusion over who the head of the National Airports Corporation (NAC) is, saying Ephraim Wasem is its acting managing director.
“My office is yet to confirm the appointment and swearing in of the full composition of the board of NAC, including its chairman,” he said in a statement.
“Currently, the board is not in full composition and as such, I have issued ministerial directives on Feb 11, to halt any board meetings until this issue is sorted out which is still effective.
“My office is not aware of any proper board meetings of a duly constituted board of the NAC taking place in February. Wasem remains the acting managing director and chief executive officer of NAC until such time as the composition of the board of NAC is filled and is able to deal with management issues,” Agisa said.
