Minister must thank hardworking teachers

Letters

WE read with interest the Education Minister’s statement to the 10th Parliament that appeared in The National last month.
Some points he mentioned need a rebuttal but one point that irritated many hardworking teachers was that he failed to thank the teachers.
Any government can design and develop the best education policy, syllabus, curriculum, education facilities and curriculum materials.
But all these are just dreams on paper.
However, who is going to implement the government’s ambitions?
Who will execute the government’s education policies?
Who will make all these aspirations happen?
The dusty, overworked, lowly paid, unrecognised and punctual teachers.
Minister Jimmy Uguro, you owe your teachers an apology and a thank you that will not cost you nothing.
Why didn’t you mention it?
