Be realistic with policies

Letters

A POLITICAL party has made a statement to create 500,000 jobs for Papua New Guineans if the party forms the new government after the general election.
Two thoughts came to my mind.
Firstly, is it true that there will be job creation according to the number stated or just a political gimmick to take that real attention of the nation away from the K3 billion that was lost by the same party making the statement.
Creation of jobs for our citizens is the responsibility of the Government and private companies, and it is good. Creation of jobs comes with the correction of corruption, and compliance of rules and laws with practical trust.
Jobs will be created if the issue of corruption is corrected and stopped in the political hierarchy, and money is not misused but used for the right purposes that can create the 500,000 jobs for our citizens.
If the issue of corruption is not changed, then, I doubt the statement is another political bait to fish for people.
Papua New Guinea has a population of close to 11 million, and a political party who can create 11 million jobs our citizens will make sense.
We have to talk real and not to make statements that are just hearsay with nothing happening.
Let’s put down resources, make good plans, encourage PNG citizens to be good managers of their life, and that will help the government of the day to create jobs for our citizens.
